Epiphany Gift Items
Christians traditionally observe Epiphany on January 6, twelve days after Christmas, or on the first Sunday after January 1. Epiphany celebrates three central events in Jesus' life: the visit of the Wisemen; Christ's baptism in the River Jordan; and the wedding feast of Cana.
Epiphany comes from a word meaning "to manifest", and it is through these three events that the magnitude and meaning of Jesus' mission is made known. In the Wisemen's worship of the Christ Child, Matthew reveals Jesus' kingship and His ministry to the entire world, including the non-Jews. At His baptism, the 'voice from heaven' reveals Jesus' true identity as the Son of God. And at the wedding feast of Cana makes manifest His miraculous powers and the beginning of His public ministry.
